This week the family was contacted by an animal control officer who was 600 miles away in Florida. At first they thought it was a joke, but when the officer emailed them a picture they knew it was Deacon. They were so thrilled that they drove 10 hours to get the dog.

Weekly Litter Box
UNITED KINGDOM - March 3, 2010: A dog-owner was fined and barred from driving for six months after taking his dog for a stroll while sitting behind the wheel of his car. Prosecutors said the man was spotted by a cyclist driving slowly along a country lane while holding his dog's leash through the car window as the animal trotted alongside.
The man pleaded guilty this week to not being in proper control of a vehicle, but told the court that "a lot of people exercise their dogs in that manner."
Interesting Bit
UNITED STATES - March 5: Two South Florida divers say they had a close encounter with a nurse shark sporting a large Frisbee-like ring around its neck. The plastic ring looked like a toy used to play fetch with dogs. It appeared to be a bit worn and the colored was faded but was still identifiable.
The men were with a group diving off Palm Beach and one of the men made the brave move of approaching the shark from behind and was able to remove the ring. The shark quickly swam away afterwards. |
