Maybe you're the type who likes to know exactly what goes into what you feed your pet, and who wants to take the natural approach. Well, here's a couple of tail-wagging treat recipes just right for you and your furry friends. You mix them up and bake them, and watch how these treats become their favorite - paws down. Two new recipes are added each month, so be sure to check in!


Pet Food BitesPet Food Bites

Ingredients:

1 cup any natural dry dog or cat food
2 eggs, beaten lightly
1 tsp. polyunsaturated oil
1/3 c. cold water
1/2 cup chicken soup or 2 chicken bouillon cubes

Preparation:

Grind dry pet food smooth in a food processor or blender and lightly beat egg and add oil. Then, mix all moist ingredients together except soup. Add to dry ingredients and then form dough into 1/2" balls.

In large pan, bring 1 quart water to boiling to which you have added the chicken soup or the bouillon cubes.
Drop balls into boiling water and boil for 3 minutes., remove from water, drain and cool. Refrigerate for up to one week.

Sardines & RiceSardines & Rice

Ingredients:

2 Flat cans of sardines in oil
2/3 c Cooked rice
1 tb Liver
1/4 c Parsley, chopped

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients.

Stir with a wooden spoon to break up sardines into bite-sized pieces. You can store the unused portions in your refrigerator, tightly covered for about a week.
