Attend Our Local Pet Loss Education and Support Group
Through education, support and information, Chance's Spot assists the public in understanding that the grief suffered when a dearly loved pet is lost is a heartfelt example of how genuine the human-animal bond can be. New Albany Floyd County Animal Control and Shelter understands this as well and together, we're offering our Pet Loss Education and Support Group on the third Wednesday of each month at the Greentree Mall Community Room, from 7pm to 8pm. Presentation presenter and group moderator will be Chance's Spot founder, Gail Heller.
The group is FREE and open to pet caregivers, veterinarians and staff, or anyone that has lost a pet. For exact dates, please visit our Announcements Page or give the shelter a call at 812.948.5355.
Immediate Assistance for Those in Crisis
If you feel as though you need to speak with someone immediately regarding the loss of a pet, please visit our Pet Loss Hotlines Page for telephone support numbers. There you will find toll-free, local and long distance pet loss support phone numbers, in addition to web site support. In the event that you are unable to find assistance at these resources, please refer to your local phonebook for crisis intervention numbers.
Important: Please understand that Chance's Spot does not provide professional counseling services. It is urged that if you feel you need professional assistance that you consult your local Yellow Pages. Thank you.
